Chester Christmas Market runs from Wednesday 18 November to Tuesday 22 December 2026, and it's one of the most-visited events in the region every year. Here's how to get there from Winsford, Northwich and Mid Cheshire without the parking headache.

Why a taxi makes more sense than driving

Chester's city centre parking fills up fast during market season, and a lot of it is pay-and-display with no guarantee of a space anywhere near the centre once you factor in market crowds. Cheshire West and Chester Council also runs a late-night Park and Ride service through December, but it has a cut-off time, usually 9pm on Thursdays, which can mean rushing your evening to catch the last bus.
